Application guidance
Dosing and titration
Testavan® 20mg/g transdermal testosterone gel has a simple 3-dose titration paired with easy and safe hands-free application. [1]
The product is indicated indicated for the treatment of adult male hypogonadism, when testosterone deficiency has been confirmed by clinical features and biochemical tests.[1]
Dosing
Dosing with Testavan® is simple and easily measured using our dispensary pump.

The recommended starting dose of Testavan® is 23 mg/day testosterone, which is one pump actuation [1.15 g/1.25 mL of gel]). [1]
Testavan® dose may be adjusted to 46 mg/day testosterone (two pump actuations) or69 mg/day testosterone (three pump actuations; maximum recommended dose) to ensurethat physiological levels of testosterone (300–1050 ng/dL) are maintained and clinical signs and symptoms of deficiency are managed. [1]
Simple 3-dose titration
Adapt to each patient’s individual response to treatment
Once treatment has been initiated, serum testosterone levels should be monitored to ensure they remain within the normal range. Testavan dose can be adjusted accordingly:
UP-TITRATE by 1 pump if serum testosterone level is
<17.3 nmol/L (500 ng/dL)
DOWN-TITRATE by 1 pump if serum testosterone level is
>36.4 nmol/L (1050 ng/dL)
A maximum of 3 pump actuations or 69 mg/day is recommended for prescribed patients. [1]
Measurement of testosterone levels should take place 2-4 hours after administering Testavan approximately 14 and 35 days after beginning treatment or dose adjusting. [1]
F.A.S.T technology
Testavan® offers original F.A.S.T technology together with low application volume, for improved patient experience and safety [1,5,6]
Testavan® demonstrates faster absorption and improved bioavailability compared with Testogel® [3] afforded by its innovative F.A.S.T technology.
The original formulation in the form of a highly viscous gel enhances absorption through the dermal layer. Testavan®’s low application volume provides better patient experience and reduced risk of transfer of gel to other individuals. [1] [5]
Our convenient hands-free applicator further reduces risk of secondary transfer.
A maximum of 3 pump actuations or 69 mg/day is recommended for prescribed patients. [1]
Learn more about hands-free application.
Testavan is designed to minimise the risks of secondary transfer through its rapid absorption, small volume dosage and hands-free application. However, patients should be educated on the risks of secondary transfer and informed on how to minimise risk.
